The Tiga Chassis Index
Tiga Race Cars was formed in 1975 by ex F1 drivers Tim Shenken and Howden Ganley the name being derived from the first two letters of Tim & Ganley and being pronounced “Tiger” The company was formed in 1975 to pursue an FF1600 project, to avoid the time consuming job of making bucks moulds and bodies they bought an existing FF1600 constructor MRE and Howden set about building a car to fit the body in the car’s first race in Mallory Park, David Lang on a scholarship from Winfield Racing School took pole, won his heat and the final setting the fastest lap on the way. The expanding firm sold 21 FF1600 cars in their first year and moved into the old Fittipaldi headquarters near Reading. In 1977 they were approached to build a Sports 2000 car to a pre-existing design and the first Tiga S2000 the SC77 was born. the first in a long line of Tiga Sports 2000s
Over time we hope o produce a  an information page for each Tiga Sports 2000 chassis type from the SC77 through to the SC89, if you have anything to share or would like to contribute to this project thenplease get in touch.
